1. Steering wheel locks
A bright, solid bar across the steering wheel is the most visible deterrent. Look for hardened steel, a lock that cannot be easily picked, and a design that fits your wheel size. Some cover the airbag area as well.

These lock the brake or clutch pedal, or the gear lever, so the car cannot be driven away. They are less visible from outside, so many owners use one together with a steering lock.

A hidden GPS tracker with a SIM shows where the car is on your phone and can alert you if it moves. Check the monthly data cost, battery or wiring, and whether the app works in your city.

Many cars already have an immobiliser. An aftermarket alarm with a shock sensor adds noise if someone tries to break in; fit it at an authorised workshop so it does not affect your warranty.
