Questions people ask
Who needs rent receipts?
Salaried employees who claim House Rent Allowance (HRA) usually have to give rent receipts to their employer. Tenants also keep them as proof of payment, and owners use them to keep a clear record of rent received.
Is the landlord's PAN required?
Employers usually ask for the landlord's PAN when the rent paid in the year is more than ₹1,00,000. Add it in the form and it is printed on every receipt.
Do I need a revenue stamp?
For rent paid in cash above ₹5,000, a revenue stamp is usually stuck on the receipt and signed across by the landlord. For UPI, bank transfer or cheque payments it is generally not needed. The generator adds a stamp box to cash receipts above ₹5,000.
Can I make receipts for parking space rent?
Yes. Choose "Parking space" as the property type and the receipt says it is for parking rent. Owners renting out parking on ParkingOnLease can also use the free Rent tracker to note payments every month.
Is my information saved?
No. The receipts are made in your own browser. Nothing you type is sent to or stored by ParkingOnLease.
Can I claim HRA under the new tax regime?
The HRA exemption is available only under the old tax regime. Check with your employer or a tax adviser which regime you have chosen.
