Ask for an EV charger
Which EV charger is right for you?
| Charger | Typical power | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| AC home charger | about 3–7 kW | Overnight charging at home or in your own apartment parking space |
| Faster AC charger | about 11–22 kW | Offices, housing societies and shops where cars park for a few hours |
| DC fast charger | 30 kW and above | Public charging, highways and fleets that need a quick top-up |
How fast a car charges also depends on the car itself. Your installer checks your car model and your electricity connection before recommending a charger.
Getting a charger in apartment or society parking
- Check your parking: is it your own allotted space, covered or open, and how far from your meter?
- Talk to your society or RWA: most societies need to approve the wiring route and any new meter.
- Check the electricity load: your sanctioned load may need to be increased; the installer can advise.
- Installation and safety check: a qualified electrician fits the charger with the right cable, breaker and earthing.
Questions people ask
Is the enquiry free?
Yes. Sending an enquiry is free and you are under no obligation. We call you, understand your parking and electricity, and connect you with an installer or EV charging company that serves your city.
Which charger do I need at home?
Most car owners charge overnight with an AC home charger of about 3–7 kW. Faster AC chargers (11–22 kW) suit offices and societies where many cars share a charger, and DC fast chargers (30 kW and above) suit public and highway sites.
Can I install a charger in my apartment parking?
Usually yes, from your own meter or a separate meter for your parking space. Your society or RWA normally has to agree, and a qualified electrician checks the wiring and load. Tell us your society and parking type and we will guide you.
Our housing society wants chargers for many residents. Is that possible?
Yes. Societies often install shared chargers in the common parking with app-based billing for each user. Mention the number of parking spaces and the available electricity load in the form.
I own a parking lot or land on a main road. Can I earn from EV charging?
Charging companies look for well-located sites with space and power. Send the details here, or, for land of 5,000 sq ft or more, use our Large land for EV charging page.
